À propos de Lisa/ About Lisa:

Née en Acadie dans la région de Pubnico, j'ai fait mes études avec le Conseil scolaire acadien provincial et j'ai obtenu un baccalauréat en psychologie, mention d'honneurs, ainsi qu'une mineure en français à St Thomas University Nouveau-Brunswick.

Suite à mon bac, j'ai complété une maîtrise en orthophonie à l'Université McGill à Montréal; la ville éminente en recherche du bilinguisme.

J'ai travaillé deux ans en Colombie-Britannique dans un centre de développement d'enfants spécialisé en évaluation et en intervention au niveau multidisciplinaire (ergothérapie, physiothérapie, travail social, intervention précoce et musicothérapie). J’ai fait de l’intervention chez la population sur le spectre de l’autisme ainsi qu'avec des clients ayant des troubles et des retards variés.

En 2008, mon mari et moi sommes retournés en Nouvelle-Écosse. Depuis notre arrivée, je continue mon travail en orthophonie avec une clientèle bilingue, acadienne ou unilingue francophone. Je suis formée en Hanen (Parler, un jeu à deux, Target Word, Apprendre à parler avec plaisir, More Than Words), The Lidcombe Program et PECs.

Je suis une personne passionnée de la musique (je joue le piano, la guitare et je chante), de la lecture et du yoga!

I am an acadian from the Pubnico region that has completed my elementary and high school education with the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial. I've completed my undergraduate degree with an Honours in Psychology and a minor in French at St Thomas University in New Brunswick.

Following my undergraduate degree, I completed my Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at McGill University in Montreal; the leading city in research in bilingualism.

Following completion of my Master's degree, I worked for two years in British Colombia at a Child Development Centre as part of a specialized multidisciplinary team including: physiotherapy, occupational therapy, social work, early childhood intervention and music therapy. As well as being part of the Autism Program, I assessed and treated children with a variety of difficulties (with or without a specific diagnosis).

In 2008, my husband and I returned to Nova Scotia. I continued my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist with primarily bilingual, acadian and francophone clients. I am trained in Hanen (It Takes Two to Talk, Target Word, Learning Language and Loving It, More Than Words), The Lidcombe Program and PECs. 

Bilingualism is not my only passion. I also adore music (I play the piano, guitar and sing), reading and yoga!
